Can I search for property by ID number in South Africa?
Yes. Use the South African ID number to search for matching property records. When records are found, VerifyNow shows the available property and deed details.
How do I check whether someone owns property in South Africa?
Run a Property Search by ID from your VerifyNow account. A matching report may show the property address, title deed number, deeds office, buyer and seller names, and transfer details.
What does a South African property report show?
Available fields can include the title deed number, physical address, property type, deeds office, township, erf or stand details, purchase price, transfer date, buyer, seller, bond holder and bond amount.
Is a property report the same as a title deed?
No. The report summarises records linked to the submitted ID number. It is not a certified title deed, legal opinion, municipal valuation or proof of current occupation.
Does the property report show registered bonds?
It may show the recorded bond holder and bond amount when the source returns them. It does not confirm the current outstanding bond balance.
What happens if no property record is found?
The search still produces a report showing that no property records were found. A completed production search uses the normal Property Search credits, whether or not a matching property is found.
