Identity document checks

Look for inconsistent identity details and signs that document text has been altered.

  • Validate South African ID checksums and compare encoded and printed birth dates.
  • Check passport machine-readable-zone check digits against the printed passport number.
  • Compare readable barcodes with printed identity details and check front/back consistency.
  • Flag visible/embedded PDF text differences, overlapping text and invalid PDF signatures.

Proof of Address powered by Document Intelligence

Review address evidence for mismatched details, document-age issues and signs of alteration.

  • Compare the document name and address with the details you supply.
  • Flag future dates, documents older than three calendar months and missing required fields.
  • Compare visible PDF text with embedded text and flag overlapping text layers.
  • Check digital-signature integrity on signed PDFs.
  • Apply bank-statement consistency and balance checks when a statement is detected.

Bank statement checks

Look for altered figures, conflicting account details and gaps in the statement.

  • Reconcile opening balance, credits, debits and closing balance where all figures are readable.
  • Check parsed transaction amounts against running balances, totals and the statement period.
  • Flag conflicting account numbers and inconsistent page numbering.
  • Compare visible amounts and account details with the PDF text layer.
  • Check document dates, supplied name/address matches and digital-signature integrity on signed PDFs.

Use the findings to guide your review

Checks depend on readable document content. The report identifies findings and checks that could not complete. OCR errors or document formatting can explain a finding; review the evidence before accepting the document.

For example, a statement opening at R1,000 with R500 in credits and R200 in debits should close at R1,300. A different stated balance creates a finding when the required figures are readable. An altered number can also be flagged when the visible PDF text disagrees with its embedded text.

Supply an expected name or address for matching. Upload the reverse of an identity document, or select a separate check for a second document. Separate documents retain their own findings in the combined report. Your team makes the acceptance decision.
