The account-name check

Use the full NPO name

Use the full NPO name recorded by the bank for the account-name check. Abbreviated account labels can return a name mismatch.

A bank letter can carry a shortened account label. Check the organisation’s full name in the confirmation wording and use the name recorded for that account.

Leave the registration or ID field empty when it is unavailable. The report keeps that field marked Not provided.

A name and account match you can review

A verified result requires an account that was found, is open and matches the supplied name. A supplied account type or identifier must also match. Omitted ID stays Not provided.

A mismatch or an unavailable required check returns review. Confirm the full name and bank details before submitting another check. Coverage and available fields depend on the bank.

Name match

The submitted full NPO name compared with the bank response.

Account status

Whether the account was found and is open.

Optional details

Account type and identifier matches when those values were supplied.

Payment capabilities

Whether the account accepts credits and debits, where returned.

Questions about NPO bank checks

Before you run a check

What does NPO bank account verification check?

It compares the full NPO name and supplied account details with the bank response. A verified result means the account was found, is open and matches the supplied name. Any supplied account type or identifier must also match.

Can I check an NPO bank account without a registration number?

Yes. Registration or ID number is optional for this NPO check. An omitted identifier is shown as Not provided and does not cause review when the required name and account checks pass.

Which name should I enter from the bank letter?

Use the full NPO name recorded by the bank. A letter may show a shortened account label and a fuller organisation name in its confirmation wording. Abbreviated labels can return a name mismatch; confirm the full name before repeating a check.

Is the NPO bank check real time?

It runs asynchronously. The dashboard confirms submission and shows the result when ready. API requests return HTTP 202 with a job ID for polling and signed webhooks. Bank processing can take several hours or the next processing window. Jobs time out after 48 hours without a final result.

What does the NPO bank check cost?

The configured price is 7 credits per completed production check, including a review result. Failed verification results use zero customer credits. Sandbox checks use synthetic data and zero credits. Keep the required credits available while the check is pending.

Can we use the check for schools, clubs and charities?

The NPO flow accepts the organisation name and bank details supplied. Coverage and available checks depend on the bank. It checks name and account details; it does not confirm an organisation’s NPO registration or tax status.

Run your next NPO bank check
